I’m Stan, a M.Arch candidate (‘24) at Parsons.

My childhood house was modest. But because it was situated in a spatious yard with beautiful gardens that hummed with pollinators (thanks, Mom!), I understood early on how architecture that defers to the landscape invites transcendent experiences indoors, outdoors, and in the places in between.

As a designer I am eager to interrogate this spectrum of spaces further. Our climate crisis offers an opportunity to establish new relationships with the elements, which I view as generative of new ways of occupying both buildings and the land.

Designed spaces and the objects and features they contain are powerful tools that respond to and inflict changes big and small, good and bad. In my work I explore how landscapes and buildings fit into critical social and environmental contexts.
