Technical Study: First Presbyterian Church House

This project focused on a technical examination of an example of noteworthy architecture in Greenwich Village. The original structure of the First Presbyterian Church was built in 1844-1846. A parish house, designed by Edgar Tafel (student of Frank Lloyd Wright), was added in 1937. A mashup of the Gothic and Prairie School styles, this building made for a fascinating technical study: the dimensions of the brick dictate the building’s basic geometries, and vice versa.
